Bobby Roberts - Class Of 1968

Obituary for Bobby Roberts, 68, of Bolivar

Mr. Roberts passed from this life on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. 

A native of McNairy County, he was the son of the late Hollin and Beatrice Jackson Roberts. Additionally, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ruth Scott, and a brother, Larry Roberts.

Mr. Roberts was a member of Bolivar First Baptist Church and a resident of Hardeman County for 40 years. On August 22, 1980, he was united in marriage to Kay Martin Roberts, who survives. He was a mortgage banker for Brighton Bank and had worked in banking and finance his entire life.

In his leisure time, Mr. Roberts was an avid sports fan who enjoyed baseball, basketball and UT football. His favorite pastime was attending the ball games for his children and grandchildren and coaching his son's games. He also loved traveling and morning coffee sessions with his friends. His family describes him as the type of fellow who "never met a stranger."

He leaves his wife, Kay Martin Roberts of Bolivar; two daughters, Amy Nuckolls and her husband, David, of Toone and Sabrina Crabb and her husband, Chris, of Selmer; one son, Phillip Roberts and his wife, Megan, of Bolivar; one sister, Rachel Mahoney of Greeley, CO; one brother, Wayne Roberts of Selmer; and eight grandchildren, Dylan Crabb, Connor Jones, Drake Crabb, John Thomas and Cole Nuckolls, Cayden Crabb, Peyton and Zoey Roberts.
